Buffalo based artist Julia Dzwonkowski received her BA from SUNY Buffalo in 1998, and her MFA from UCSD in 2007. Known for work in a wide range of media including ceramics, paintings, video, and site-specific installations, Dzwonkowski has frequently collaborated with fellow artist Kye Potter for joint projects and publications. As well as producing artwork of their own, pair worked together to curate exhibitions on prison art and experimental film and video. Dzwonkowski's recent paintings address uncertainties of the modern age through tenderly rendered illustration, creating boldly poignant statements through skillfully economical use of line and color.
