"Born in Chicago in 1983, Brooklyn based artist Kate Levant received her BFA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston in 2006, and her MFA from Yale University School of Art in 2010. She held a two-year residency position at the Rijkskademie van Beeldende Kunsten Amsterdam, NL in 2012 & 2013. She has been featured in numerous exhibitions around the world and was included in the 2012 Whitney Biennial. Her work has been reviewed in the New York Times, Art Forum, Art in America, Art Review, New York Magazine, the New Yorker, Mousse Magazine, Art Ltd., Nero, Hyperallergic, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Chicago New City, and the Detroit Metro Times. Levant’s writing has been published by Yale University Press, Black Pages, Kingsboro Press, and independently through Kassen Editions. Levant co-founded KAJE, an alternative art space in Gowanus Brooklyn, with Jacques Louis Vidal in 2017, and currently serves as the organization’s Artistic Director.
