Lives and works in Los Angeles, CA

Lizette Hernandez was born in Los Angeles and graduated from UCLA in 2019. She lives and works in Los Angeles and has exhibited widely throughout California and Mexico. Through her art Hernandez considers questions of spirituality and tradition. Pulling from her own personal beliefs and experiences to engage with Latin American migrant communities as a whole, she creates ceramic works which investigate the notion of sacred objects. Apparently abstract in appearance but nonetheless suggestive of natural forms and textures, Hernandez's art questions cultural customs through the subversion of expectations and the subtle allusion to the familiar within alien forms.
