Marina Pinsky
Born 1986
Lives and works in Brussels, Belgium and Berlin, Germany
Born in 1986, Marina Pinsky divides her time between Brussels and Berlin. Pinsky earned her BFA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts in 2008, and her MFA at UCLA in 2012. She has exhibited her work in numerous group and solo shows throughout North America, Europe, and has art in the permanent collection of the MoMA in New York. Working across two and three-dimensional, Pinsky creates art that engages with and prompts questioning of the viewer's concept of the observed world as something genuine and constant. She presents her audience with familiar sights seen from unfamiliar vantages, allowing for novel reconsideration of otherwise unremarkable forms. Taken further, such radical reflections prompted by Pinsky's work demand consideration of the artifice of the crafting, manipulation, and intentionality inherent to artmaking.
