Marc Librizzi: Change of Color

Harkawik is delighted to present Change of Color, a selection of five new paintings from New York based artist Marc Librizzi, on view at the 30th edition of The Armory Show. In these spellbinding vignettes, Librizzi invites us to examine contemporary life by way of the most minute gestures, and, in a first, situates this perspective in a series of delightfully humble acts of self-depiction. Here the painter haunts his canvases, falling listlessly from a treebranch kissed by Autumn breeze, tucked away into a teacup clouded with the diaphanous steepage of cadmium yellow, or brushing his hair with the prize of any dollar store, his earring whispering back to him something inscrutable.
